Practicum:
Little Mountain Animation
In the spring of 2021, I completed a seven-week practicum with Little Mountain Animation, an independent studio founded by Nathan Thomas, a former VFX artist now working with Unity Technologies. The project focused on creating a new episode for their YouTube children's series, Big Dinosaur.
My responsibilities spanned several key areas of production, including writing, storyboarding, concept illustration, and designing small 3D assets in Blender. Meanwhile, Nathan handled animation using Maya and Unity.
As part of a smaller studio, I had the unique opportunity to explore the animation pipeline in depth and experiment with various aspects of production. This hands-on experience not only deepened my understanding of 3D animation workflows but also introduced me to industry-standard tools like Blender, Maya, and Unity, building a solid foundation for future creative projects.
